What the Organisers Do

You run the car - we run the event!

All the difficult bits before the start and during the event are organised for you. The Rally Office is your 'one-stop shop' for everything required to get to China and safely back to Paris.

First you lodge your entry-form. Your entry-fee into the 100th-anniversary Peking to Paris includes all of the following - an experienced team is backing you up from the outset... here are the most important organisation-support items which we take care of and include in the entry-fee.

  • Shipping your vehicle to China, from dock to dock. All port handling charges and landing-dues... all you have to do is take out the Marine Insurance, which we can also organise as an extra if you wish...

  • Chinese registration Number-Plates and special Chinese Driving Licences...

  • Third-party insurance for your car in China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan and Russia...

  • All visa costs - you send your passport to our agency in London, they do all the work on your behalf, or, you are welcome to make your own arrangements...

  • All hotels from the Start to the Finish based on a double or twin-room sharing (upgrades where possible are extra). including breakfasts....

  • Dinner with the rest of the rally on 30 nights...

  • The services of our experienced mobile-workshop service crews... in 50 international rallies, we have never left anyone stranded, no car has ever been left behind.

  • The support of the on-event medical teams... we know how to keep you going because we have the past experience of previous events, in wilder terrain than this...

  • Special pre-start Briefing Days - meet the members of the Organisation and get to know fellow competitors. There are special Briefing Days planned in England, America and Australia...

  • Tickets to crew members to the arrival party in Beijing before we are all flagged away... May 22nd, Beijing.

  • Tickets to crew members to the finish celebrations - a black-tie gala trophy-presentation party at the Continental La Grand Hotel, Paris on June 23, 2007, dinner, with wine supplied...

  • Overnight security guards for your cars at night-stops...

  • Special arrangements for camping on the Steppes of Mongolia... in Tibet in 1997, we provide teams of Nepalese to dig the toilets, erect the marquees for the chuck-wagon, truck in the food and equipment, carry in the water, organise the fuel-bowser - and feed 250 people, three nights running, (that means 750 hot dinners and 750 breakfasts, on the roof of the world miles from anywhere) and now we have to organise similar support for the rally in Mongolia...

  • All road-books and map-books - we supply you with full navigational paper-work, to a standard that we know from experience can be handled by a total newcomer on their first-event - nobody got lost in 1997, and that involved more borders, and more countries...

  • Metal rally-plates, door numbers, stickers, identification dog-tags, special souvenir clothing, navigator's Peking to Paris briefcase and crew rally-bags...

  • A special book of car preparation tips - all the Rally Office fact-sheets of past events bound into one simple ring-binder, useful for your garage or workshop as a guide to prepare you a reliable car.... with thousands of miles behind us, having looked after more than a thousand competitors in the past 16 years, we have built up a lot of useful information and it's presented to enable you to make the most of a rare and enjoyable experience...follow our tips for a hassle-free drive.

  • A useful glove-box pocket guide to time-keeping and navigation tips - handy reading for your navigator, and a pre-start health-guide - our rally medics reckon prevention is better than cure, and their advice is worth a lot in order to maximise your enjoyment of a special route...

  • The back-up support of a friendly, professional Rally Office - call them in normal office hours, if they can't answer it, they'll know someone who can... an experienced team are here to help you reach the start-line - and then make the most of an amazing experience.

  • The event will run to the standards demanded of F.I.V.A., the FiA, and the national automobile clubs and Government authorities for each of the countries crossed.... the necessary permits are already being sought to put Peking to Paris 2007 on the international calendars as an Historic long-distance road-rally.

What is not included in your entry-fee: Your air-flights. Car and preparation, petrol, tent, some lunches, personal health-insurance...beers along the way.... and champagne for you, your family and friends who might chose to help you slate a good thirst at the finish.
